request for assistance n a project involving
the late
I quite understand the agency's
inability, by charter, to be more forthcoming.
But I am additionally grateful for your
suggestions on the directions I might take in
searching existing archives for information.
STAT
was a genuine favorite of mine. We
spen many appy hours together, and were it
not for the public identification of George's
work in a number of books, I simply would not
have known what he did. He was a man of
consummate good manners when it came to
observing the confidential nature of his work.
Along with a couple other projects, I've
de work a special mission. I
