One .of the proposals approved early last month by the 40 Committee for
? Italy related to support for the moderate administration of the Christian
Democratic Labor. Conference (CISL)?under Bruno Storti. A strong minority

in .the .CISL is attempting to unseat Storti and move the CISL?toward?Unity
? with the PCI dominated labor confederation.
As the 40 Committee proposals begin to be implemented, Ambas sad or
Martin will probably be sending in additional reports of this nature.
