The report also should briefly summarize other actions of particular significance. These should include third country military forces in support of Cambodia, other third country assistance, and diplomatic steps which may have been taken. . 1970. Kennedy SUBJECT: Report on Cambodia Per your memorandum of August 11, enclosed is draft memo for the Secretaries of State and Defense and the Director of Central Intelligence which establishes the new weekly reporting format for actions on Cambodia. John Holdridge concurs. 00 Ole% ff4&Q?uml ice, No Objection to Declassification in Full 2012/03/07: LOC-HAK-448-4-16-3 1V rJb1V1.A1N"U1VJ THE WHITE HOUSE CONFIDENTIAL August 11, 1970 RICHARD T. KENNEDY JOHN H. HOLDRIDGE The President has asked that we discontinue the biweekly report entitled, Actions on Cambodia. He has asked instead for a weekly report which lists only the amount of equipment, ammunition, weapons, etc. that have been shipped to Cambodia for the previous week. The report should also contain a very brief summary of other actions which are of sufficient significance to be of Presidential interest. In short, what the President would like to have is a very brief weekly update of significant assistance to Cambodia covering the period of the entire week. I think based on this modified Presidential requirement that we should revise the daily report system currently levied on the bureaucracy and merely ask for a weekly report which covers new items for the previous week. I believe if we had this report by the close of business each Friday we could then prepare it for the President for the opening of business each Monday morning. I will leave this up to you -based on your own personal convenience and.estimate of the best way to do it. No Objection to Declassification in Full 2012/03/07: LOC-HAK-448-4-16-3
