1. The Office of Strategic.Research in CIA has
recently.publishe& a working paper which,, in addition
to describing elementary measures of'strategic military.
power, presents some interesting results of computer
aided interaction analysis accomplished in the office.
This analysis was undertaken to better our understand-
,i.n: of how: the strategic balance in the 1970s might be :
viewed by the Soviet military planner.
