SU1JFCT: Presidential Directive
In further elaboration of my memorandum of August 4, 1970 on this
subject, the President wants Yt understood that ppeciiis: :sue8tions an
coalition government, U. S. troop withdrawals or cease-fire in
Vietnam should be answered along the following lines:
"The U. S. position on this subject has been Bally stated
by the President _tnd I have nothing to add at this time. "
The President has Aso directed that copies of this and the earlier
directive on this subject also dated August 4, 1970 be forwarded to
Ambassador Bruce, Ambassador Duffer ind COMUSMACV.
