SUBJECT: Another Visit By Senator Tran Van Don
Our Embassy in Saigon has informed us that Senator Tran Van Don
will visit the United States in the latter half of September, and will
be in Washington for about a week beginning September 21.

Embassy. Don has indicated in Saigon that he would like to meet
with Ambassador -Sullivan, and Ambassador Sullivan has told me
that he wants to see you.
Our---Embassy believes that we can be- a, little bit warmer to Don
then we were last year, since he is somewhat more constructive
now than he was then. The Embassy thinks we should make
"-suitable appointments" for him, if requested, but "not at the
highest level. "
