SUB%)".CT: Assignment of Responsibilities on
Reconnaissance Matters
1. The emorandum of 12 January 1966 setting forth
Iresponsibilities as Director of Reconnaissance
~s hereby rescinded and the position of Director of Reconnais-
sance`is abolished. Henceforth, in addition to his duties as
Chairman, USIB Watch Committee; Chairman, USIB SIGINT Committee,
and CZA SIGINT Officer, will support me in the
following areas of overhead reconnaissance policy: (a) in
my role as member of the NRP Executive Committee, (b) in
matters related to space policy, such as the NSAM 156 Ad Hoc
Committee, and (c) in other overhead reconnaissance matters
not assigned to other Agency components.

2. Henceforth, the DD/S&T will deal directly with the
DNRO on my behalf.in the management of CIA programs in the NRP
and he is hereby designated Director, CIA Reconnaissance Pro-
grams. He will report to me directly on such matters.
