Inquiry froze Senator Hayden
1. Senator Hayden called you on 26 October, and
in your absence talked with. Colonel Baird. Senator Hayden
stated that he had received from the Chief of the staff of
the Joint Congressional Committee on Printing (of which
he is Chairman) a highly critical memorandum on the CIA
printing program. The Senator has forwarded the memoran-
dum to us for consideration, and it is attached herewith.

It is recommended that the Director telephone
Senator Hayden (Code 190, extension 882 or 905) and
suggest that the Deputy .Director for Administration call
on the Senator and give him a detailed reply to the charges
contained in the Committee staff's memorandum.
