Attached is the transcript of executive session testimony by
Admiral Arthur W. Radford, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
who appeared before the Subcommittee on National Policy Machinery on
June 6, 1960.
This testimony was taken in executive session in accordance with
the "guidelines" agreed to by Senator Jackson and President Eisenhower
last July. Those guidelines state that: "Any testimony by present or
former government officials who have served on the National Security Council
or its subordinate bodies regarding the National Security Council and its
subordinate machinery will be taken first in executive session."
This testimony has been cleared for release in accordance with
the procedures set forth in the guidelines.
