SUBJECT: Recruitment of DDO Career Trainees with
Scientific and Technical Backgrounds
1. This will confirm our discussion on CT recruitment during
my meeting with the recruiters on 14 September 1979.
2. It has been apparent for some time that more and more
collection requirements of a scientific or technical nature are
being levied on the Operations Directorate. I would like, therefore,
to ensure that sufficient attention is being given to the recruitment
and selection of Operations Directorate Career Trainees with experience
and academic background in the physical sciences and in engineering
fields. The employment of officers with the desired scientific and
technical skills will clearly be of significant assistance in meeting
