Petween 10 and 14 September 1953, a total of about 15,000 KVPs who wore red, black and dark-green service colors were temporarily quartered in Perlin-Johannisthal before being forwarded to other laces. These move- ments were effected only at night. 25X1 the units involved came from Uckermuen a and were to go to Buch near Ber- lin. Movemrments observed included: In the pight..of'10 to 11 September, about 6,000 men arrived on, about 300 trucks and were quartered in a hangar which was equipped with about 2,000 beds, in another hangar with about 1,000 beds and 7 temporary buildings each of which with a capacity of about 150 beds and in other buildings. The unit left during the night of.1l to 12 September, In the night of 11 to 12 September, about 4,500 men arrived and left again in the following night. In the night of 12 to 13 September another estimated.4,500 men arrived and left again in the following night. 2a Another shipment of 1,500 to 1,700 KVPs arrived in the night of 13 to 14 September. The unit included a repair shop platoon-and began preparing its quarters on 14 September. Apart from 10 armored scout carssno heavy weapons were observed with this unit, which was quartered in seven temporary buildings and also in hangars.
