ANNEX 2 WASHINGTON, D.C. 20515 January 12, 1978 STAT 7~- 0I3o2- Office of the Legislative Counsel Central Intelligence Agency Washington, D. C. 20505 STAT I would like to thank you for your continuing efforts to meet the information needs and document requests made by the Select Committee on Assassinations in the past six months. As you'are aware, during this time the Committee has been in an organizational stage of its investigation. As a result of its experience to date, the Committee has adopted certain procedures which it believes will in- sure an orderly and productive relationship with the Federal agencies with which it deals. I am enclosing a copy of a staff memorandum which addresses the issue of Committee document requests and agency compliance therewith. As is stated in the memorandum, this aspect of the Committee's business is being coordinated by Jacqueline Hess on the Kennedy Task Force and by Gerald Hamilton on the King Task Force. While you are encouraged to communicate freely with any member of the Committee staff, please be aware that information request compliance is monitored by Ms. Hess and Mr. Hamilton alone. It is hoped that these procedures will not be burden- some to you. Rather, it is the intention of the Committee in adopting them that the interaction between the Committee and the agencies be professional and mutually beneficial in all respects. ; Again, I thank you for your cooperation. Sincerely, G. RRoobert Blakey cd3 ~DD GRB? proved For Release 2004/07/08: (Sk 2DP811011 R98000100000e03-~0 r Enclosure
