SUBJECT : IDEALIST/TACKLE Mission C341C
1. IDEALIST/TACKLE Mission C-341C was flown on 16 Nov 71
along the north China coast from just south of the Shantung
.1*
Peninsula to a point opposite Shanghai.
2.
The pilot flew the route as -
briefed except for a course alteration away from the mainland
to avoid a cloud covered area of the coast in the vicinity of
Shanghai. There were no unusual occurrences, sightings or activi-
ties reported. All systems and cameras operated normally.
3. Weather along the route .was forecast to be Category II
(1/8 to 2/8 cloud cover) with a small area of Category IV (5/8
to 7/8 cloud cover) in the vicinity of Shanghai. The pilot
reported the actual weather was essentially as forecast with the
exception of the cloud cover in the Shanghai area.
4. Indications are that this was a successful photo/ELINT
mission.

a. Target Intelligence: Photo interpretability ranged
from poor to fair with 55% cloud cover. Forty-five of the
eighty-three programmed targets were covered. In addition
