SUBJECT : Request for Briefing
Charles Meissner with whom we worked at Treasury
and who is now on the staff of the Senate Foreign
Relations Committee, Subcommittee on Multinational
Corporations, called me to ask whether the Agency
could give him an oral briefing on Middle Eastern oil,
particularly as seen from the Arab side. The Sub-
committee is looking into this question as an aspect
of its preparation for hearings on the impact of
multinational corporations. There is apparently no
great rush and Meissner is willing to wait until the
present crisis has eased. I told him we would be
happy to give him a briefing and to call me in about
two weeks. At that point I will organize a joint
OCI/OER briefing if you approve.
