2. Talked with Bob Michaels, of the House
Appropriations Committee staff, regarding the travel of certain members
of the Committee staff to the Far East. Michaels advised that the Survey
and Investigation Staff was making this trip for the primary purpose of
looking into administrative matters such as aspects of DLAMs personnel
program. He saw no reason for Agency people to be involved and also
said there would be no basis for members of this staff to inquire into
matters affecting this Agency. Field stations which are concerned are
being notified to this effect.
