1. Between 5 and 10 December 1950, the southern secti sn of the
billeting area at the former airfield in Oschatz (N1 52/1; 71)
was still occupied b-,,- a tank unit which was chiefly equiopod
with T-34 tanks and some SP guns. The tanks had a rhombus or
diamond-shaped tactical symbol with a horizontal dividing line.
Two AT guns of about 75 ram, towed by trucks, were observed
at the billetin area. The view into the billeting area proper
was blocked. No training activity was observed outside the in-
stallation. Infantry units, on which no data could be obtained,
were also quartered in the southern section of the billeting-area.
2. The western section of the billeting ar.:a was still occupied by
an armored engineer unit, which had had a turnover in personnel.
The unit was affiliated with the tank unit in the southern billeting
area.
