Introduction
2. "The eastern and northeastern strips of the Silesian coal, basin still constitute
a separate traditional coal mining region. IIiaving been separated for over 100
years from the German or Austrian Dart of Silesia, respectively, this small
coal mining region around Sosnowiec and Debra -Gorni,4aa has kept its individu-
ality within the organizational system of coal mining,in Poland. Coal exploita-
tion and excavation at present J95kj is operated under the organization called
the ?Union of Coal Industry', (Z edwocsenia Przewmalu y ).1 This separately
met-up union operates in the 8 a region,,coow~ the eastern edge
of the Silesian basin which pr es rather minor type of coal product.
