1. For informational purposes and/or in anticipation of certain
legal questions that ma, --rise pertaining to the financial liability
incurred attending the employment and subsequent resignation of the
above-named individual,, please be advised as follows t
2, executed and entered into a written contract with
the Agency in December of 1951. Under the terms of the contract,
subject agreed, among other things, to perform certain services of
a covert nature for a period not to exceed two calendar years. How-
ever, the Subject, of his own volition, after 3 months of employment
with the Agency, tendered his resignation. His resignation was ac-
cepted on 29 February 1952.
3. The Subject has indicated that he has under consideration
the possibility of engaging legal counsel to advise him as to his
legal rights. He is aware that the contract for employment has been
breached and that there are other outstanding indebtedness incurred
by him to this Agency by reason of transportation costs and subsis-
tenoe payments incidental to his employment, which remain unsatisfied.
4. Subject was advised by a representative of this office
that any attenpt to engage private counsel at this time would be pro-
mature, and he was further advised that he should address any
communication pertaining to the matter to the office of the General
Counsel, CIA.

28 March 1952
1. Reference is made to memorandum dated 6 March 1952 directed
to your attention by the Chief, Fg regarding subject. In this oan-
nection you are advised that the Finance Division is in receipt of a
memorandum dated 20 March 1952 directed to the Comptroller by the
Deputy Security Officer, I & 8, a copy of which is attached.
2. As you will note it appears that the former employee intends
to engage counsel to advise him of the legal rights contained in his
contract.
3. It is requested that the Finance Division be notified of
the action taken on the mmorandum of 6 March 1952, above mentioned.
