THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. Between 20 September and 13 December 1953, a copper smelter was
under constrnation two km southwest of Liegnits, on the southeast
side of the highway to Goldberg. The Liegnitz streetcar line

In early December 1953- the first furnace which was called lair Boras,
allegedly a Soviet copy of an American design, was started at t
temperature of 900oC in order to dry the fire clapr lining of the
furnace.
2. The area of the smelter aeasured about 1,000 z 800 meters. In
December 1953- 5 administration buildings with laboratories anal 1
foundry plant with the furnace aentionad were coapleted. Two other
furnaces were still ender construction. Also completed was a
storage depot for construction materials, while a workshop about
120zj0 meters was still under construction. The smelter had railroad
connection. No factory power station was available.
3. Between September and December 1953, individual shipments of copper
ore arrived at the saeltery Eros Wolfsdo~c!' ('tilkow) (0 528 70)
near Goldberg where a copper mine had been reopsndd. luny forced
laborers were employed at this mine. The production of copper ingots
which had the shape of half-cylinders 120 c:m low and 12 om in
diameter was started in Deceaber 1953? Ao outgoing copper shipments
