The iron foundry in Gliwice (Glewitzf_ N 50179E 1110) formerly known as Alte Huette, is now called GZUT (Gliwice Technical Equipment Plant). Mobile cranes with a carrying capacity of up to seven tons,, grates for locomotives, brake blocks for railroad cars, large ship pumps with two cylinders, small air-hammers and large cogwheels are produced here. There are no smokestacks in the plant, since all smelting is done with coke. Approximately l9000m19200 workers work in three shifts at the plant. 2. The iron and steel foundry at Walbrzych (Waldenburg - N 50469 E 16.47) is named Huta Karol. The nearby rail line between Gliwice and Jelenia Gora N . . \ . (Hirschbe 0 -,'I r.
