The division portable flamethrower company is zither
assigned to one of the regiments as a tactical unit,
or it may be broken down into platoons add attached
to separate regiments depending on the tactical situa-
tion.

The attached terrain decontamination battalion is broken
down into companies which establish three to four special
decontamination stations.
2 The weapons and clothing decontamination company astab- .
lishes two to three deeov:~,~tion bases.
The chemical and radiation detection company personnel
remain under divisional control at a'prescribed location
in order that they may be employed to perform reconnaisance
missions as the need arises.
The heavy flamethrower battalion is employed along the
most likely routes of approach for enemy amore These
flamethrovers are .placed either in advance of the
armoaed defense barriers (PCK) or in gaps between armored
defense barriers.
All Units. All chemical defense forces, both organic and
armed, cooperated with the engineers in the laying of mine
fields, including regular high-explosive antitank and anti-
personnel mines as well as eheeical lend mines. In addi-
tion, they cooperated in planning for and creating smoke
screens for the concealment of defensive positions.
