D FORCES
ARMY
1. - Organization and Location of Units
a).Infantrsr Battalion stationed in Bilisht.
An Inf. battalion(identity and cony. No unznown) is stationed in Bilisht, which is
under the Army Unit of ::orce
Location: To the Army barracks located S.W. of Bilisht,
leading from Bilisht toISTALOPIGI.
Armament :
-Soviet rifles 7p62 nmi, type 1591/30.
-Soviet light machine ;un.s, 7,62 mm. type D.P.(Dekt' of
Soviet heavy machine guns, 7,62 mm, type r~1AXW H-1910.
-Soviet pistols
-Soviet Mortars, 82 and 107 mm
-Two Soviet A/A guns, 12. .7 mm, type 12.1 ASI K
of the bssracks.

-Transportation Facilities
-One American JEEP.
-About 120-150 mules and 11_orses.

the strength of the ballation in officers and men 25X1
is as follows:
Before the initial dismissal of 9000 and the second of 6000 Officers and ITCOs,
discharged from the service lately, the battalion had a strength of about 100
officers. After the said reduction in force the number of officers serving &&
with the battalion was decreased to 4.0.
The battalion had a strength of 350 men( approximately).

The men of the battalion were trained every day.
Corm andar
Since 1955, corramader of the battalion is a Cot At named Nazif (lnu) from the
village of POLCSIM.Before him, corr.iander of the battalion was a (Lt Col) named
Lulo TDO.

Location: Subject barracks are located S,W, of Dilisht and on the E. side of
the road leading from Bilisht to IKrISTALOPIGI.
Description: The barracks of Bilisht consist of the following 7 buildings:

roof covered with tiles the Italians. In these buildings 25X1
are lodged the men of the Inf. battalion.
The fourth building is constructed with stones, and its roof is covered
with tiles; it is a two story building constructed in Zogts period. In this
one are stationed the workshops of the battalion( shoe-makerts shop, tailorts
shop, etc).
The remaining 3 buildings are single-story, with different dimensions, having
their roofs covered with tiles. one of them serves as a cookhouse;

At a distance of 300 in. from the a/m barracks, within the area of the barracks
which is surrounded with a i~rlre-fence, there is the church of AGIA PAPASKEEVI
and a small building located nearby the church.The latter is used as an ammu-
nitions depot.
Water
Water is received from springs located in the area of the barracks.
Light
Electricity is available from the Electricity Producing Factory of Bilisht.
Security measures Gaards)
The side of the cann located towards the road is closed with a brick-made wall
about 1,90 in. high. The other three sides of the camp are surrounded with
barbed-wire fence about do c 1,50 in. high. In day time the camp is guarded by
a sexltry assigned to the gate which is located to the side of the camp facing
the road. Within the area of the barracks there are two Soviet A/A guns, 12,725X1

Within the area of the baarcks of Bilisht there is a cemetery and the church
of AG IA PARASIEPI; nearby the church there is a small house. These buildings
are both used as am=, ition depots. In day time they are guarded by a soldier
