SUBJECT: Foreign Policy "Export Controls" proposed by the
President's Export Council Subcommittee on Export
Administration
The attached proposal on changes to the Export Administration
Act's Foreign Policy section was prepared by the President's Export
Council Subcommittee, a body of private sector advisors to the
Secretary of Commerce. The proposal will be provided to both the
House and Senate Committees responsible for the renewal of the present
Export Administration Act. There is no way of knowing what impact it will
have, but Industry's comments are worth noting.
