SUBJECT: Language and Area Specialist Training Program
Reference: Conference on subject conducted by Mr. Baird on 25 April 52
1. Contact Division, realizing the need, heartily endorses in
principle the plan for intensive and long range training in NE languages
and areas as set forth by the Training Officer in reference.
2. As presently constituted, however, the Contact Division does not
have sufficient need for such highly trained and specialized personnel
to justify its submitting candidates for the course of training. There 4.t.

advantage of the facilities of the course. Should that occur, Contact
Division will reopen the subject in the proper manner.
