Each of the following members, United States Air Force Scientific
Advisory Bo-rd, Wa:hington, D. C., is authorized by the Secretary of
the Air Force to proceed on or about 17 March 1963 from Washington,
D. C., to Anchorage, Fairbanks, Clear and Point Barrow, Alaska, on
temporary duty for approximately eight (8) days, for the purpose of
inspecting military installations and tracking stations and to study
geophysical research being conducted in Arctic region and upon
completion thereof will return to Washington, D. C. Tr:vel by
commercial -ircraft (first class accommodations) directed between
Continental United States and overseas. Items 6, 7, 8, 9b, 10a, b and
c? 11, 12a, 13d and 14b on reverse side apply. Item 2b applies to Mr.
Rice, Mr. Edson nd Mr. Wheelon. Item 2a applies to Mr. Britton:

TEMPORARY DUTY 6/62.
ONLY ITEMS AS INDICATED IN THE ORDER ARE APPLICABLE
1. Each individual is assigned Hq USAF, Wash, DC, and upon completion of TDY will return
to Wash, DC.
2. During the period of TDY, each individual is cleared for access to clas material up to
and including (a) SECRET; (b) TOP SECRET.
3. For period of TDY, each individual has been designated for access to (a) COSMIC TOP
SECRET (NATO); (b) NATO SECRET; (c) SEATO TOP SECRET; and (d) CENTO TOP SECRET.
4. Individual is designated Official Oneer and will comply with AFR 205-1.
5. While on duty with the Royal Canadian AF, the orders of the Royal Canadian AF personnel
senior in rank will be complied with insofar as they pertain to this duty.
6. Prior to travel comply with the Foreign Clearance Guide for clearance, passport and
immunization requirements.
7. In the event of limited war or mobilization, contact your hq to determine the necessity
for continuance of travel. In the event of general war or if the Con US is attacked by
a fgn mil force while traveling, report to the nearest AF instl as soon as possible.
B. Variations in itinerary authorized.
9. When traveling by aircraft, each individual is authorized the following total pounds
baggage, including excess: (a) 90; (b) 100; (c) 135; (d) 150.
10. The following modes of travel Are authorized:
a. Mil and commercial acft, commercial rail and bus within Con US. (Applies to civilian
personnel only.)
b. Mil acft outside Con US. If travel is by scheduled MATS acft, return AMD will be
obtained from the local area priority issuing agency.
Commercial acft (including fgn registry acft when US registry is not available),
commercial rail and bus within oversea area.
d. Commercial acft between Con US and overseas.
e. Commercial acft (1st class accommodations) between Con US and overseas.
f. Commercial acft (1st class accommodations) within Con US.
g. Canadian mil acft.
11. Per diem is authorized as prescribed in
