This mission is in response to the USIB requirement
for photographic coverage of high priority targets in the
has a requirement for photo- 25X1A
graphic coverage of targets in this area. The 303 Committee
has approved four photographic missions for the month of
December 1968. This U-2 aircraft
will remain 20 NM off the Communist China mainland.

COMIREX targets in the Formosa Strait. There are 5 X1A
priority targets also covered. These COMIREX targets
include five airfields, fifteen army military complexes,
seven naval installations, two electronic sites, and one
coastal defense site.

are known to be within lethal range of the flight path.
The nearest known SAM site is approximately 40 NM from the
projected route of the aircraft. The mission aircraft will
