The UNIVAC 1100 ANNOTATE system generates the commands required to produce
plots of point data as specified by user input parameters. The plotter currently
available for use with the system is:
- Off-line Calcomp Flatbed Plotter I STAT
Each program run will plot any number of points on up to 10 maps run with Lambert
and/or Mercator projections. All plots are labeled, and all points are identified
by name. TIC marks appear at the Southwest and Northeast corners of plots up to
a scale of 1-1,000,000. WPS plots are bounded by a rectangular border.
The operational flow of ANNOTATE and its interface with input and output
function can be seen in Figure 1.

The ANNOTATE system produces two types of output for every run request, tape
and listing.
Magnetic Tape Output
- 7-track Plot Tape
800 BPI (Density)
Field Data (Code)
Reel Label - Label tape according to instructions on console
for ANNOTATE.
Example: SAVE ANNOTATE TAPE AND LISTING BADGE,
NAME, PHONE

Disposition - Assemble tape & listing together and send to TSS
for pickup by MAB or OIA personnel.
High-Speed Printer Output
Identification - Listing heading should contain information
that was put on tape label.
Example: BADGE, NAME, PHONE
Disposition - Assemble listing and tape, send to TSS for
pickup by MAB or OIA personnel.

The NDS-IDF Data Base File is used as the input data file, read only.
No data file updates are performed. Any terminated run should not cause any
unrecoverable file problems. At the operator's discretion, either run the
job again or save any output printer listings for the user and let him correct
the input runstream if practical and rerun it at some later date.
