The IDFTRANS program will be run. on the UNIVAC 1100/84 on a yearly basis.
The purpose of the program is to transfer selected readout data from the
Installations Data File (IDF) to the Historical Installations Data File (HIDF).
The criteria for transfer is as follows:
1. Transfer readouts that are more than two years old except as noted in
items 2 and 3 below.
2. Do not transfer NACs, NRCs, or CNAs. (These will be removed from the
data base by the IDFPURGE program.)
3. Retain at least the latest target description.
As each readout is transferred to the HIDF, it is deleted from the IDF. A
field is then set to indicate that additional historical data is available for
that target.
Since IDFTRANS is not time-critical, a utility mechanism has been built
in to allow the operator to stop the program during execution, if necessary,
and restart the processing at a later time (see page 5).

Interrupt/Reentry:
IDFTRANS can be interrupted through operator intervention
by keyin of ST XDB*P$RUN.IDFARCH-STOP/XQT or ST STOP-IDFARCH.
The program will stop gracefully in about a minute or less.
The operator can restart the IDFTRANS program at any time
through a keyin of ST XDB*P$RUN.IDFTRANS/XQT or ST IDFTRANS.
