On'Z'December 1952, 19700 officers and men of two motorized infantry battalions and two armored companies of the Chinese Communist 27 Column (sic), k China Military Area, left Nanking by train for Fukien, via Shanghai.. They travelled by tr in from Shanghai to Hangehow and from there on the Chekiang-Kiangsi Railway. These four units, which were organized in May 1952 in Nanking, were to be stationed in Foochow to "consolidate defenses" in that area. 2. In September there were Chinese Communist army officers'training schools in Fukien at Changchou (N 24-32, E 117-42)9 Chinchiang (N 24-549 E 118-34)9 Foochow, Hsiamen (N 24-27) E 118-05)9 and Nanp'ing (N 26-399 E 118-08). W'UYang (0702/2251)2 was in charge of the school at Changchou and TS'ENG Ching-lin (2582/6975/7792) in charge of,the one at Ch'uanchou.
