1, On 1 May 19539 a sentry wearing red-bordered black epaulets with artillery
insignia was seen at the .Frinz . . en Kaserne in Rudalstadt. A new transfcrmer
station was located at the northwestern cor ierr of the billeting area. No
vehicles or heavy weapons were noticed in the barracks yard,
2, On I May, the sentry at the Flak Kaserne on Schaelaer Strasse wore red-
bordered black epauletsp Five trucks stood in front of the garages Na
heavy weapons were noticed.-About 300 soldiers in athletic dresses
witnessed a footl*ll match on the Saab Meadows.
On 1 May, the finance office building on Karl Marx Platz appeared to
house a headquarters. A major was the ranking officer among those observed.
