1. The Yugoslav crude oil. production in the year 1049 amounted to 340,000 tons.
The production in 1950 is expected to be increased to 410,000 tons, This
appreciable increase would come from a more intensive production in the oil
fields of Donja Lendava, but also from an extensive exploration and develop-
ment of the oil-rich areas in northern Croatia, in the area southeast of
Zagreb which extends bet*.reen the Sava in the south, Bjelovar in the north,
and Daruvar in the east. The center of this field Is the zone of Cojlo,
north of the Sava.
The shortage of drillin7 machinery,is of greatest concern to the planners of
the Five-Year Plan. After all deliveries from Czechoslovakia stol-ped in i94 `,
blueprints of existing machinery were made and the Djuro Djakovic plant in
Siavonski Brod tres entrusted with the production of five complete drilling
sets which trore ready for o ~eraetion in September 1949, Totra.rds the end of
l?48, the first complete drill.in r equtz:mont had arrived from the United States.
Five additional dril.l.in_r! sets have since been manufactured at Slavoncki Brod
and placed in operation early in 1950. Soon thereafter it ms decided to
erect in .'31a.vvns1ri Brod a rpl.ant for the exclusive construction of complete
drilling equipment and for its repair., This factory, which is already under
construction, will also manufacture refining machinery,
1hzring 1940 three refineries were erected in Serbia; several. are under con-
struction In Dalmatia, After the Five Year Plan in 1051, the to i production
of a.sollne is expected to reach 75,000 tons (of which P0,000 tons is
synthetic gasoline), compared with 4,000 tons in 1946. The best-mown
refineries are; the refinery in Rijeka with a yearly production of gs0,000
barrels; the refineries at Sisak, at Sumecani which lies northeast of Ivanic
Grad on the .Belgrade-Zagreb railway, and at Bosanski Drod on the south bank
of the SL&+va and 2P0 kilometers west of Belgrade.
