On October 31, 1955, our Purchase Order No. 16603 was origi 25X1A
to co ment of 300 silicon junction transistors, Type No.
25X1A from On 2 November 19 5,
Purchase Requisition No. ver the procurement
of 1100 additional transistors of the same type. These transistors are to
be employed in experimental work necessary to the development of System
No. 2 and in the fabrication of two airborne and two ground station prototypes.
AW The price quoted on the first order for transistors was $9. 65 each. It
was determined, however, that if both orders were combined, the quantity
discount obtainable would result in a net price of $8.95 each. Accordingly,
our Purchase Order No. Z5-10169 is being issued to cover the procurement of of a total of 1400 silicon junction transistors, Type No.
X1A I I at the price of $8. 95 each. Exclusive of any applicable
sales taxes, the cos of the 1400 transistors is $12, 530. 00.
Experimental work cond t d in our laboratories has indicated that 25X1A
transistors manufactured by Company are superior in
our applications to those produced by any o urce Accordingly, we
