Two radio ,jamming towers were. located at the corner of Pernavas iela and Krisjana Bdroria iela (see map) :l tamm were for radio jamming. They appeared as in the following sketch: 2. One large radid'Ctower, about 125 feet in height, was located close to the Central Railroad Station. 3. A tower similar to that in paragraph 2 above was located across the Daugava River from the Central Railroad Station. 4. Two pairs of high radio towers were located across the river from the road between Riga and Bolderaja. 5. There were two high radio towers at a great distance between Riga and Riga Strand, well back in the forest on the left side as one travels to Riga Strand. 6. Two trucks carrying radio antennae were observed at the Riga airfield. One was about one kilometer south of the field. Both trucks appeared not to have been moved for a long time. The following aircraft were at Riga .Airfield: 1 Aeroflot IL-14, departing for Leningrad. 3 biplane trainers. 10-15 monoplane trainers. 2 MIG-17s, parked outside a hangar, fuselages partially covered with tarpaulins. Bridges 8. There were four bridges. across the river in Riga, as follows (see map of Riga for locations): a. Railroad bridge: An iron bridge of five spans. Before World War II, there was.a',highway bridge alongside, which was destroyed and not rebuilt. b. Highway bridge: Also destroyed during the war. Pontoon bridge: A very low bridge for autos, made of wood and resting on pontoons. One section opened for water traffic. Highway bridge: The last bridge downstream in Riga, made entirely of wood. It was built in 1945 in just 92 days 4wd was soon to be rebuilt. One section opened for water traffic. I) (I) (' (1) (1) (I) (1) 1 9. Unidentified Installation Approximately one and one-third kilometers north-northwest of the cemetery at Meza Park there was a fenced, rectangular installation, 'With guard towers at two corners and one in the very center. Three rail spurs led into the installation, although only one of them had been in use recently. There were many large pipes running laterally in the area. No guards were in sight, nor could any activity he' seen. Power Lines 10. There was a power line approximately 200 meters north of the cemetery at Meza Park which was located in the northern part of the city, said to be _quite famous as a burial place for cavalry soldiers fulled in World Mar I. The -being reconstructed; the tower iftwms-;ra, new, while part of one ofthti-bld towers can be seen at the right of the picture. The line ran generally northwest-southeast, but tmnied slightly to the east at the cemetery. The line had three wires, and th j insulators had six discs. 11. A power line similar to that described in paragraph 10 above crossed the road between Riga and Rigs Strand, about ten kilometers from Riga. The line ran in a northerly direction. 12. A power line crossed the river approximately halfway between the Riga airfield and Bolderaja. The observation was made on the road 50X1-HUM between Riga and Bolderaja. Three guard towers were locatted on the left side of the road traveling from Rigs to Riga Strand. T7m were close by each other at *bout the eight- dr point from Rigs, ate one was about nine km from Riga. They were probably guard posts to protect the power line crossing the same road, about ten kilometers from Rigs. (bee paragraph U.) 14+. The area around the titer-~Psul Church was restricted. Persons at-tempting to visit ships docked th*t vicinity were stopped by an unarmed guard.
