SUBJECT: Appointment as Chairman
1. Attached please find a copy of the memorandum that has been sent out
to members of the National Foreign Intelligence Community (NFIB, NFIC, and
IR&DC) announcing our appointment. I have scheduled a meeting for you.
Admiral Inman and myself for 3:30 p.m. on 9 June at
Admiral Inman will welcome you to your new position and
probably say a few words about how he would like the Council to function
(probably focus on emerging technologies, but also perhaps with some specifics
thrown in).
2. 1 am working out a number of R&D briefing sessions for you throughout
the National Foreign Intelligence components as your schedule will permit.
