1. The Chief Political Administration of the Soviet Armed Forces GPUVS, is
? % two administrations (upravleniya) one for Navy ZPolitu'
pravleniye VM?) and the other for Land Forces 4 Politupravleniyee SV).
2, Chief of the Political Administration of Land Forces is it. Gen. Lrainyukov-.*
His administration directs all Party and political work of the Soviet land
forces through. the political. administrations attached to the .711itary districts
(okrug) and army groups (gru pa voisk am).
3. The Political Administration of the Soviet Array Group in Gen ny is headed
by Lt. Gen.. Proninn',who issues all orders and directives governing politi-
cal education and the indoctrination of military units in Germanny. Under
him are the political officers of the various Soviet armies in (fermany,
including Lt. Gene Derevyanlco, political deputy cormnanding general of the
First Guards T'eechanized Amy in Dresden.
4. Directly responsible to the political deputies of armies are the ?_cliticai
deputy corromnding officers of regiments and tank units equivalent to regi-
rents, called in Russian Itdivizion" (battalion or squadron), and of "special"
units.
