Kenneth McDonald Chief, History Staff SUBJECT Review and Release of CIA Documents to the U.S. Army's Center of Military History 1. Dr. Vincent H. Demma, an official historian with the U.S. Army's Center of Military History, has requested the following CIA documents from the Lyndon B. Johnson Library for his use in preparing a volume of the Army's official history of the Vietnam conflict covering the period 1961 to 1965: TOP SECRET documents 270b, 282, 282a, 22b, 282c STAT Having received these documents from the Johnson. Library, we would be grateful if you would review them for possible release (at their present classification) to the Center of Military History for Dr. Demma. 2. Dr. Demma and the Center of Military History have agreed-to CIA's "Access Policy Concerning Presidential Libraries (revised 12 July 1977)," which requires further CIA review before any of the classified material you may now release to them can be declassified, downgraded, or published. 3. I would be grateful if you would return these documents with your determination to the DCI History Staff, room 316 Ames.
