A change in the area of coverage was discovered by 1 personnel while performing an analysis on the notion discrimination portion of the effort. The change in coverage was required in order that sustainer detection could be possible in all cases. 081 documented the requirement in BY1--35243/85. 3. New information on coverage requirements may cause the optical system to be changed from a three element system to a four element system. This may be necessary in order that image quality at the detectors be maintained over the new increased field of view. The now field of view requires that elevation angles of minus 19 degrees through minus 52 degrees be covered. 4. A schedule slip of one week could result from this requirement. It was felt by AGC management that most of this time can be regained by a priority effort in the optical design department and without OT utilization. 5. Layout of the window in the chine box had been completed, but will require slight modification due to the new "look angle" requirement. 6. Initial thermal analysis is underway. AGC requested that a meeting between Lockheed, Air Research, Aero, jet, and the customer be scheduled during the week of 21 June. The purpose of the meeting is to coordinate cooling requirements with Air Research and establish working arrangements and cooling feasibility.
