Major General Beqir BALLUKU, Chief of the Albanian General Staff
Military Academy in Moscow.
Commente This report is a variance with recent allegations emanating
from a grade., Yugoslavia which averred that BALLUKU had been liquidated and re-
placed by Major General Petrit DUMF. General BALLUKU's last reported public ap-
pearance was on 1 April 1952 when he addressed the afternoon session of the
Second Congress of the Albanian Workers' (Communist) Party in Tirana.
ThE,,-:Voroshilov Military Academy is comparable to the National War College.
It offers a 3-year command course for officers above the grade of lieutenant
colonel who are preparing for assignments as staff officers in higher headquar-
ters, and a 10-month course in strategic employment of large units for general
officers. General B',ALLUKU is probably attending the 10-month course.
