Aircraft Count.
1. On April there were 19 MIG-l5 aircraft at Koethen Airfield. n addition there
were also two unidentified jet fighters which are described in the following
paragraph. All aircraft were silver in color and showed the conventional
Soviet red star on the fuselage and tail fin. Three aircraft were dispersed
in front of the hangars and the remainder were parked on the taxi-track
adjacent to the runway.

2. The undercarriage and the tail unit appeared to be similar to that of the
MIG-15 b the wing tips were angular and the wings swept back more than
those of the standard MIG-15 aircraft. The fuselage did not appear to be
round but might rather be described as egg-shapedg being wide at the
lower part. The nose appears pointed and stands out sharply in dark red.
Under the point of the nose is an opening in the form of a mouth which is
stepped down below the level of the fuselage. The stepped down portion
continues to a point level with the trailing edge of the wings. From +,b.-' s
point the fuselage tapers off to the tail unit in the normal way. This
aircraft was thought to be bigger than the MIG=15. (See attachment for
sketch)
