The topography of the eastern side of the KERCH channel was considerably modified in comparison with that reported on the nautical chart. The coast in question, as indicated on the enclosed sketch in which the traced line indicates a large quay with several railroad tracks running alongside, several sheds lined up parallel to the quay, various other smaller buildings, and a number of signal li.=hts.
