1. Progress Report of Tasks Assigned by the DCI/DDCI:

2. Items or Events of Major Interest That Have Occurred During the
Preceding Week:
a. XEROX Laser Printers: Xerox Corporation, Printing Systems
Division has submitted proposal dated 21 March 1984 which is
anticipated to meet Office of Data Processing's (ODP's) printing
requirements for the next three years. This proposal addresses the
purchase conversion of currently rented Mod I units, the upgrading
of all Agency-owned Mod I units to Mod II's (at no charge), the
development of TEMPEST-Mod II units for initial delivery in December
1984, maintenance, and font pricing. Xerox has offered Unit Step
Pricing and Quantity Order Discount Pricing for the resultin
b. Mitre Corporation Contract: Final negotiations with the Mitre
Corporation in Bedford, Massachusets were concluded this week upon
the receipt of a fully executed contract. A contract was sought
with the Mitre Corporation by the Intelligence Information Handling
Committee for the integration of information networks in a manner
that will permit timely and effective information sharing across the
intelligence communit .

c. Settlement Of Buyout Sales Agreement With OPM Leasin : Office
of Data Processing (ODP) had determined that it would be in the best
interests of the Government to effect a buy-out of leased IBM 3420
Magnetic Tape Drives. Accordingly, an amendment was forwarded to
OPM Leasing to effect this buy-out action. OPM Leasing refuses to
