PRIMORYE-CLASS AGI (INTELLIGENCE COLLECTOR)
IN EGYPT, AND CONSTRUCTION OF TRENCH
NETWORKS AND WEAPONS EMPLACEMENTS ALONG
THE MEDITERRANEAN COAST.
THE NEW SAM SITES ARE PORT SAID SA-2 SAM
SITE (NPIC SITE 597), 3 NM SOUTHEAST OF
PORT SAID, AND PORT SAID SA-2 SAM SITE
(NPIC SITE 598), 2 NM SOUTH OF PORT

SAID. EACH SITE CONSISTS OF SIX REVETTED
DRIVE-THROUGH LAUNCH POSITIONS AND A
REVETTED GUIDANCE AREA. THE SITES WERE
UNOCCUPIED.
PORT SAID SAM SITE A13-2 (NPIC SITE 1),
PORT SAID SAM SITE A31-2 (NPIC' SITE 2),
AND PORT SAID SAM SITE A30-2 (NPIC SITE 3),
HAVE BEEN IN A STATE OF DISREPAIR SINCE
WHEN HEAVY
BOMB DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED. ALL THREE
SITES HAVE BEEN RENOVATED. THE REVET-
MENT WALLS OF THE GUIDANCE AREAS HAVE
BEEN REPAIRED AND THE LAUNCH POSITIONS HAVE
BEEN CLEARED OF DEBRIS AND VEGETATION.
SOME OF THE BOMB CRATERS HAVE BEEN FILLED
IN. ALTHOUGH UNOCCUPIED, THE SITES
APPEAR CAPABLE OF BEING OCCUPIED.
AT PORT SAID, A PRIMORYE-CLASS AGI WAS
OBSERVED. THIS IS THE FIRST IDE ICATION

NEW TRENCH NETWORKS AND WEAPONS EM-
PLACEMENTS HAVE BEEN CONSTRUCTED ALONG
THE MEDITERRANEAN COAST BETWEEN
31-16-30N 032-17-25E AND 31-16-30N
032-19?-OOE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE
ENTRANCE TO THE SUEZ CANAL. SEVERAL
BUILDINGS ON THE COAST HAVE BEEN RAZED
TO FACILITATE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
TRENCHES. SIMILAR TRENCH NETWORKS
AND WEAPONS EMPLACEMENTS WERE ALREADY
PRESENT ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ENTRANCE
TO THE CANAL BETWEEN 31-15--10N 032-19-30E
AND 31-13-35N 032-21-30E.
THE NEW MILITARY ACTIVITY IN THE PORT
SAID AREA HAS TAKEN PLACE SINCE
