Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/14: CIA-RDP94-00798R000200320088-4 LOGNOTE -- Chief, Operations Group, 1S August 1984 1. (reported that the Embassy in Seoul finally is going to move, after about four years of confusion and changes of plan. The Embassy has purchased a former girls' school which will be razed to make way for a new building. We have been asked to specify our space requirements in the new building. We will need a somewhat larger space than we have now; the monitoring and teletype areas are cramped and the editorial room is little more than a passage. We have also been offered space in a building which GSO is renovating for its own use. We could have somewhat more spacious quarters in this building, quite well furnished and equipped no doubt since GSO takes good care of itself. There is a question of adequate communications from this building to the remote site. I told Chuck to tell FBO to plan us into the new Embassy. In the meantime, we will do some tests from the GSO building to see if it would be suitable for our bureau. If we should decide to change plans after the tests State will no doubt be pleased.
