To multiply a frequency by four tines in a wide frequency band., the input signal is converted by a nonlinear resistance vith an odd curz*nt-voltage characteristic, differentiated,, and fed to a quasi- linear resistance with an even current-voltage characteristic (009 Fig* 1,* At- Card 1/2 Fig. is UDCt 621.396.61 I i Fig, 1, 1- nonlinear resistance; 2- quasilinear resistance I i Orig. art. has: I diagram. i I SUB CODEs EC/ SUBM DATEt 25Jun62 i k 0 i ANA! , dots.; DERZHAVETS, Abram Yakovlevich, AF ~~~.-Vyachaslaxoyich. inzh.; YEGOROV,, Nikolay Vladimirovich., dots.; POPOV, Sergey Nikolayevich, prof.; SPITKOVSUY, Matvey Isarovichj NUNUFAROVj S.M., red.; LAPINA, Z.D., red. izd-va; LAVRENOVA) N.B.; tekhn. red. '.* r 5 pp 1192-1199 (USSR) ANTRACT The separation of niobium and titanium by way of their com-olex-ions was achieved by means of applyin ion e%chan-e. In order to determine the Optimum -1.ork con= ditions for the separation of niobium-titanium, the isothermal lines of adsorption of both niobium and ti= tanium were defined and the coefficients of distribu- tion were determined. The elution from the exchange-- .column takes place completely in 5 n HC1~ In 6 to Br!ICl,niobiu;n is hardly elated~ A mixture of IICI- -11F was found to be the best mcans of Qluticn for nicn= b ium. Niobium and titanium form in mixed solu= tions - complex-ions in which the two elements are represented, and the presence of these mixed complexes makes the separation niobiuri-titanium difficult. The behaviour of tantalum in hydrochloric acid solution was - also investigated and it was shown that tantalum is not of an ion exchan6e character, A course of sepa= ration for the production of purest niobium was elabora= ted. TITLE: The Effects of Levomycetin on the Rate of Isolation of Brucellae From White Mice With Experimental*Brucellosis Infection. Authorts Summary. PERIODICAL: Zhurnal mikrobiologii, epidemiologii i immunobiologii, 1959, Nr 6, p 131 (USSR) ABSTRACT; The authors studied the effects of levomycetin therapy oft the, rate of isolation of Brucella melitensis 20 from the organs of white-mice with experimentally reproduced brucellosis. The tests showed that Brucella were isolated much less frequently (14%) in animals which received levomycetin therapy beginning on the day after infection than in animals of the control group (36.6% incidence) which received no:treat- ment. The levomycetin took effect on the twentieth day of infection. In the treated animals Brucella were isolated mainly from the-inguinal lymph nodes, which were near the site of inoculation. In the control animals Brucella were isolated at later stages from the lymph nodes, the spleen, the liver and other internal organs. Levomycetili treatment Card 1/2 begun on the fifteenth day of infection also proved effective, reducing AFANASY.IEVA, E.L.; VMBOLOV, V.I.; VOTINTSEV, K.K.; KROTOVA, V.A.; MANIKOVSKIY, V.I.; MESHCHLRYAKOVA, A.I.; SHBIJMYEV, M.N. B.t Latosh, TITLEs New Eaters of Dithiocarbamic Acidel PERIODICAM Doklady Akademii nauk SSSR, 1960, Vol. 132, No. 1, pp. 10-144 TEXT: In the publications data on the protective effect of antiradon (AET, ~-aminoethyl isothiuronium bromide W) against ionizing radiation 'nave appeared (Refe. 1, 2). Thus, the authors tried to synthesize compounds with a similar structure, namely, A-aminoethyl dithiocarbamates (II). They have produced new carbamates with a non-substituted amino group (IV, V, VIJ. They are formed by the reaction of ~-chloroethylamine with sodium salts of the relevant dithiocar- bamic acids (sodium diethyl dithiocarbamate, -tetramethylene dithiocarbamate, and pentamethylene ditbiocarbamate). The reaction products were obtained as easily crystallizable hydrochlorides (Table 1). By using the known reaction between amines and quinones, the authors have synthesized now derivatives of benzo- and naphthoquinone (VII-XIV) (see scheme). These types of compound have recently become recognized as physiologically activep and as new synthetic drugs, amongst Card 1/2 80063 New Esters of Dithiocarbamic Acids S/020~60/132/01/37/064 B011/ 126 other things as antibacterial and antigrowth mediums. The benzoquinone derivatives (VII-IX) and the naphthoquinone derivatives (X-XIV) contain A-aminoethyl- dithiocarbamate residues, and easily form on the interaction of free amines (IV, V9 VI) with quinones in an ethereal solution. They are red.readily crystallizing, not easily soluble substances (Table 2). There are 3 tables and 8 references, 1 of which is Soviet. Otdeleniye nauk o Zemle. Nauchnyy sovet po kompleksnym issiedovani- yam zemnoy kory i verkhney mantii. Glubinnoye stroyeniye Kavkaza (Abyssal structure of the Caucasus). Moscow, Izd-vo Nauka, 1966, 64-75 TOPIC TAGS: geophysics, reismic prospecting, petrology, stratigraphy, /Caucasus ABSTRACT: The most important of the different age associations of igneoug rocks some of the structural zones of Northern Caucasus (the piedmont region, the foot- i Ihills, the transverse depression zone, the granitoid zone and the axial zone of the Major Caucasus ridge) are described. The post-Selurian, post-Lower Carbonaceous, pre-Triassic, post-Lower Jurassic, pre-Middle Cretaceou's and Cenozoic formations are described. The magmatic geology of Northern Caucasus is compared wLth geophysical data. A new scheme is suggested for the deep structure of the territory. The ancient basement is shown to consist of Hercynian and older formations. In :LCard 1/2 ACC NR: AT60 34505 I particular, a substage of lower Middle Paleozoic formations is differentiated. It differs greatly in respect to its physical properties from younger rocks of Upper Paleozoic and Mesozoic ages. In the region of the Major Caucasus this substratum has been completely reworked by upper Paleozoic granitic intrusions. The ancient rocks outcrop in a few areas; however, to the East the Caledonian basement is covered by Mesozoic and possibly Upper Paleozoic formations. It is belie%ed that the deep seismic sounding conducted near El'kholovo has located the buried extension of the Caledonia structure of the Western Caucasian foothills.
