On 8 August it was observed that a double, 24-hour army sentry had been set up on the road bridge over the Oder at Tschicherzig on the Zielona Gora (Gruenberg) - Sulechow (Zuellichan) highway. 2. The sentry house is located. in administrative buildings (zabudowania gospodarakie) situated on the highway to Sulechow, at a distance cf about 100 meters north of the bridge. 3. It was thought at first to be only a temporary arrangement, but up to 29 September 1953 sentries were still on duty at the bridge.
