to age (and without regard to any previous reduction in
their benefits).
1 Be.it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
2 tines of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 That. (a)(1) section 202(e)(1)(B) of the Social Security Act' is
4 amended by striking out "has attained age 50 .hut ha.s not
5 attained age 60 and'.'.',
6 (2), Section 202(f)(1)(B) of such Act is' amended by strik-
7 ing out "has attained age 50 but has not attained age 60
8 and".

1 (b)(1) Section 202(q)(3)(A) of such Act is amended by
2 striking out "age 50" and inserting in lieu thereof "age 60".
3 (2) Section 202(q) of such Act is further amended by
4 adding at the end thereof the following new paragraph:
5 "(12) Notwithstanding any other provision of this sec-
6 tion, there shall be no reduction under this subsection in the
7 widow's or widower's insurance benefit of an individual for
8 any month in which such individual is under a disability (as
9 defined in section 223(d)); and none of the provisions of this
10 subsection shall apply with respect to such benefit even
11 though such benefit may have been so reduced prior' to the
12 onset of such disability.".
13 SEC. 2. The amendments made by the first section of
14 this Act shall apply with respect to monthly insurance bene-
15 fits payable under title II of the Social Security Act for
16 months after the month in which this Act is enacted. The
17 Secretary of Health and Human Services (without the neces-
18 sity of any application therefor) shall redetermine the amount
19 of any widow's or widower's insurance benefit which is pay-
20 able for the month in which this Act is enacted in order to
21 reflect such amendments as provided in the preceding
22 sentence.
