LEAVE FOR SERVICE IN KOREA
Extensive training and organization oY medical personnel foi?
combat medical service on the Korean front is going on i.n large
cities such ss Tientsiny Shanghai, and Peiping. The Tientsin
First Battalion consisting of leading surgeon= an3 physicians
from a number of the municipal hospitalsy after preliminary
training, left for Korea on 26 November 1;50. Similar units have
been organized in other cities and have been sent to the war Yront.
HOSPITALS START TRAIN~NG CLASSES -- Tientsin Jih-pao, 12 - 23 Nov 50
Tientsin Municipal Hospital No 3 has organized a volunteer medical and
first-aid class to prepare personnel for service on the Korean battle front.
The head nurse of Tientsin Municipal Hospital No 3 has already given two lec-
tures on combat ?irat aid, and some 60 to 70 doctors and nurses are attending
the lectures. The hospital has organized four medical unitsy consisting of
doctors, nurses, office staff, .and workers. The doctors' unit is study-
ing surgical techniques, and the workers' unity litter-bearing and Yirat aid.
Members of the doctors unit include Pharmacist Li Hsiu-t'ing (1) umbers re-
fer to appendea character) and Doctors P?ang Yen-Ch'ing (2), Tai Z (3), and
Chang Ho-t`ins (~).
In addition to forming a current affairs stt~.y class, Tientsin Municipal
Hospital No 4 started a training class in combat-zone medical techniques. Lec-
tures will be given by Ch'sn Lin-t?ang (5) chief aurgton; Yu Yung-ch'uan (6),
chief physician; Ts'eo L1-wen (i)~ sape~Tisor of nurses; and Liang Ming-yen
(8), chief of the otorhinolaryngology departmtnt of the hospital,

rent affairs sod first-aid study classes to prepare for eventual service on the
Korean front.

in Kalgan have volunteered for the Korean war front. The volunteers sre now
