THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
The Hungarian brick and tile industry is working; on a production program
of 200 million tiles and /160 million bricks. This program has already
proved itself badly planned, as the actual need is for more bricks and fewer
tiles. In consequence, eleven brick factories which had stopped production,
have been restarted in an effort to fill the gape There are 180 brick and
tile factories working at present., but only 56 are of real significance.
These 56 are nationalized concerns.
Of this production program, 76 - 80 only can be completed, because of the

7o The following high-priority orders for bricks and tiles have been place
and deliveries are to be made in the near future:
a. L achii.ne and iron works at L1ohacs and textile factory at Lioh6cs - 5
million bricks, (This is part of the plan to make L1ohdes an industrial
center within two years. Tractors, lorry engines and threshing machines
are to be produced here. Four foundries are to be constructed for the
iron works. Coal will be supplied from i' cs and iron ore from Salgotarjan0 )*
