MODIFIED PUMPS ARE MORE EFFICIENT -- Moscow, Moskovskaya Pravda, 22 Nov 52
The Moscow Pump Plant imeni Kalinin has reduced the weight of some of its
products, improving their efficiency and raising their durability. Among
these are the 24-NDN, 14-NDS, and 12-NDS pumps. Castings for the casings of
these pumps were reduced in weight 30 percent.
The 24-FV-13 pump formerly had its shaft journal inserted into a stain-
less steel sleeve. Now the shaft journal is metalized, saving a great deal
of expensive metal, and improving the operation of the machine. A special
shop where the metalizing will be performed is being built.
Precision casting is applied at the plant.
SEND PUMPS TO POWER STATIONS -- Moscow, Trud, 13 Sep 52
The Riga Turbine Machinery Plant has completed a new lot of pumps, ship-
ping them to electric power stations at Moscow, Baku, Zaporozh'ye, Krivoy Rog,
and other cities,
BUILD ORIGINAL TURBOPUMP -- Moscow, Crud, 3 Oct 52
The Leningrad Ekonomayzer Plant recently built a turhopump of orii;inal
desigu. By 5 Octoler, the plant will complete several more pumas, intended
for use with powerful turbines,
USE COMPRESSORS IN MANY FIE DS -- Moscow, Vechernyaya Moskva, 15 Sep 52
The Moscow Kompressor Plant turns out compressors and refrigeration
units for subway hviilders, miners, and workers of the metallurgical, chem-
ical, and meat-and-dairy industries. Compressors from the plant are alao
in use at the great construction projects.
