EVALUATIONS ARE DEFINITIVE. AFfRAISAI t~!~ G~~~TENf IS TENTATIVE.
1. The following basins in Pbland possess lead-zinc ores: the Bytom (Heathen;
basin, the Chrzano+s-O1Lvss basis and the 1laraex basin. ?herd art 50X1-HUM
Sour active mines in the Bytom basin: Orzel Bialy, uarynski, ?tarchl.exaki,
and Noxy Dwor. :'he Bolcslax Mine and the Clesansv Mine are in the
Chrzanov - Ollct:~s basin, The only xork being done in the Tarnow basin
is exploratory xork xith the aid oP geological drillings. The Bytom basin
is the richest in zinc.

amounts to 1,200?tons of zinc ore ?-ith a content of 9 percent zinc, zinc
sulphide, blends (ZnS), and 800 tons os eAl~{*+R ores -zinc amide. The
blends ore is refined and enriched on the sediaent processor up to lei
percent zinc and the galena (PbS) is separated mile t'se rest is ground
in coal mills. All the ore passes on the tlotatiom nachiaery xhere zinc
ore and blends xith a. content of S3 peroent zinc is obtdned. Ca':-smine
ore extracted at the mine is sit`ted and eruahsd at the aechanical pra~cesaar
and is passed to the rotary kilns of the fvondrp at the Otzel Hialy nine.
3. The 0rze1 Bialy works has ten rotary kilns. Dta3.ly prodnetion amounts to
abut L20 tons of r7astan oocide in addition to 2G tons of rax lead and
about eight tone of cadmium.
!.. The zinc blends and pert of the galena are sent out toihe zinc mills at
Szopier~ce (N 50-16, E 19-~r7), Qixice (Gleivit~ (2I 50-17, E 18-40),
Lipid, and Kuneguadox (B 51-13, E 21-27). The remaining galena is
processed in flu~naces for the purpose oP obtaining rax lead. The roasted
oxide is transported ~+ narrow-image railroad to the mi11a beationad above,
The cadmiva oxide is entirely transported to the Szopienice xorks, mere
there is a cachoium refinery. Rai: lead f7ro~ Orsr1 Hialy is also brought tc
the Szopienice and i:he Yarynski vc_ks,Where the ray lead is processed into
